| Very oxidizing inorganic molecule of bluish color and smell of shellfish, which is an allotropic state of oxygen produced by electricity, and is found in small proportions in the atmosphere after storms. In the lower part of the atmosphere it is a pollutant that damages living tissues and rubber; while in the stratosphere it plays an important role in filtering ultraviolet rays. It is used in some water purification treatments. |
