Oxidizer |
| Substance that tends to gain electrons from another substance, the reducer. The oxidant oxidizes other substances and in turn reduces, which decreases the number of oxidation. The strength of an oxidant is relative and depends on who reacts and in what medium it is carried out, in an acid medium, oxidants are more energetic. |
