Niobium

Chemical element of symbol Nb, belonging to group 5 of the periodic table, atomic number 41 and atomic mass 92,906. It appears as a silvery gray metal, soft, ductile and malleable, it is quite inert. It is used in the preparation of stainless steels, in the creation of superconducting alloys and high temperatures, and in the construction of nuclear plants.
