Macromolecule |
| Giant molecular structure that has a high mass, generally above 1000g7mol. The macromolecules give rise to solid substances that form critaline networks and are characterized by having very high melting and boiling points and being poorly soluble in polar solvents. the term also applies to structures such as diamond, graphite, silica or quartz and carborundum, which in reality are ramifications to infinity of multiple covalent bonds in which there is a defined molecule. |
