Molecular formula |
| Real formula of the compound constituent molecule that reports the number of real atoms of each constituent element. It is obtained from the empirical formula: known the molecular mass, it is divided by the empirical mass. In most inorganic structures the empirical formula and the molecular formula coincide, but in carbon compounds it is essential to know the arrangement of the bonds of the molecules. |
