| Chemical element of Li symbol, belonging to group 1 of the periodic table, of atomic number 3 and atomic mass 6,939. It appears as a silvery white metal, soft and the lightest of metals. Chemically it is a very reactive element. It is used in the preparation of alloys with aluminum, in pyrotechnics, in the pharmaceutical industry and in the manufacture of special glasses and batteries. |
