| Highly flammable liquid, colorless and less dense than water, which is obtained from petroleum by direct distillation between 60ºC and 200ºC or by cracking heavy fractions. Chemically it is a mixture of alkanes, cycloalkanes and aromatic compounds of four to ten carbon atoms, and sometimes of alkenes. |
