Deliquescence |
| Property that presents some substances very soluble in water to absorb water from the ambient air. This happens if the vapor pressure of the solution formed with the substance is smaller than the pressure of the water vapor present in the atmosphere. The solution tends to settle until the vapor pressure of the solution is equal to the partial pressure of the water vapor in the air. |
