| Amide of carbonic acid of formula CO (NH2). It is the main metabolite of proteins and is excreted in the urine. It comes in the form of white crystals, almost odorless and saline, soluble in water, alcohol and benzene. It is obtained industrially by partial hydrolysis of cyanamide or by reaction of carbon dioxide and ammonia. |
