| Chemical element of symbol Zr, belonging to group 4 of the periodic table, of atomic number 40 and atomic mass 91,22. It is presented as a silvery white metal, soft and ductile. It is a little reactive element at ordinary temperature; in contact with oxidizing acids passive. It is much more reactive at higher temperatures, so that finely divided can get to light. |
