Ketones |
| Organic compounds that are characterized by containing a carbonyl group attached to two carbon atoms, that is, they can not be found at the end of the chain. The suffix -ona added to the name of the hydrocarbon is used to name the ketones, although the two radicals attached to the carbonyl group can also be named followed by the word ketone. |
