| Simple lipid, ester of a long chain fatty acid and a long chain aldohol, which can be found in the animal kingdom, in the vegetable and mineral. The composition of the waxes involves mainly alcohols and saturated unbranched fatty acids, with chains of sixteen or more carbon atoms, such as the cylilic and cyrillic alcohols and myristyl, and the palmitic and cerotic acids. |
