Chemical element of symbol Rf, belonging to group 4 of the periodic table, of atomic number 104. It is a radioactive that is not found in nature. Its physical and chemical properties are decomposed, although it is supposed to be a silvery white metal. 14 radioisotopes have been synthesized; the most stable is Rf = 263, with a half-life of 10 minutes.
