Filter

Porous device that allows to separate solids from liquids. The solid substance is deposited in the filter, since large solid particles do not pass through the pores. The simplest filter used in laboratories consists of a porous paper disc that is folded in half twice in a row, folded into a cone shape and the funnel adapted. In chemical analysis, special devices are used, such as porous screens and Gooch crucibles.
